Our free courses are basic level, accessible, supportive, friendly and informative and run in partnership with Kent Adult Education. They are aimed at people interested in volunteering who may need a confidence boost before taking those first steps towards volunteering. They include lunch and tea and coffee. All participants receive a certificate and travel expenses.

We can also arrange for a trainer to run one-day certified courses on a number of topics.

Who are our courses aimed at?

  1. If you are an individual living in the Dover, Folkestone & Hythe and Thanet districts, interested in doing our basic level introductory courses on customer service, confidence building or skills for volunteers, and you meet the first three requirements below then please look out for the booking links or get in touch with the team at training@kcv.org.uk
  2. We can arrange a tutor to run Certified Courses for clients and volunteers of charitable organisations who provide a venue and/or a minimum 9 participants. There are free places on these courses for those who also meet the additional requirements listed below.

Course requirements – course participants must be:

  • 19 years of age or over
  • unwaged (unemployed/retired/house person) or low-waged
  • UK/EU Citizen

  • from a deprived ward – check eligibility here (scroll down to p10)
  • looking to use the qualification to improve employment or volunteering opportunities
