Thanet Volunteering Opportunities
East Kent Mencap is looking for two volunteers to help every Monday evening at their Gateway Club in Ramsgate which supports adults with a learning disability by introducing new activities reduce social isolation, and build confidence and independence. Broadstairs Town Team have a range of gardening related volunteer activities on one or more of the eight sites they maintain as a group in and around Broadstairs, and they are looking for people to join the team. Experienced or novice gardeners of all ages equally welcome, just a love of working outdoors and as part of a team is all that’s required! This could be an activity to fit in with a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme. RISE UP. CLEAN UP. MARGATE. is a community-driven social initiative with a mission to clean up Margate’s beaches and protect the local coastline, ocean and native wildlife. Towards the end of the year their regular community cleans are monthly instead of weekly – attached is a poster with the dates. These are always dependent on the weather so they share latest updates on beach cleans on Facebook and Instagram.
