Folkestone & Hythe Hub

This exciting, and recently launched 3.5-year project (Jan 2019), funded by Folkestone Community Works and the European Union Structural and Investment fund aims, with the support of Volunteer Mentors providing one to one support, to help people find their way back into work through volunteering as well as promote physical and mental wellbeing.   Identifying up to 40 people who are long-term unemployed and 60 people who are economically inactive from both the wider CLLD area and the 20% decile areas, Passport to Employability will enable participants to develop and gain practical and social skills (such as team working, basic IT usage, telephone use, customer service as well as day to day interpersonal interaction).

Passport to Employability will first introduce participants to volunteering through a series of training sessions which aim to enhance and improve skills. Core training will include:

  • l Introduction to Volunteering
  • l Skills for Volunteers
  • l Customer service
  • l Confidence building

Additional training sign-posted to:

  • l First Aid
  • l Basic Computing
  • l Access to Literacy and/or Numeracy
